Alfa Romeo is usually mentioned on the same page with sportiness and elegance, which is why the brand is highly regarded by its fans. However, there is an Alfa Romeo in the world – even just one – that does not necessarily fit the image that has been shaped for the Milan factory since its founding in 1910.

In 1995, they came up with an unusual prototype, although in the eyes of many, especially fans and collectors, it is this uniqueness that makes it attractive. The model is associated with the name of Italian car designer Gioachimo Acampora: based on the foundations of the Alfa Romeo 75, he wanted to create something completely new, with which he could bring the company, which had previously operated from 1849 to 1954, back into the public consciousness.

Looking at the Castagna Vittoria from the outside, it’s hard to believe, as its completely redesigned, hand-hammered aluminum body looks nothing like the inspiration. From there, the end result looks more like a sports coupe than a sedan – and therefore closer to an Alfa Romeo SZ than a Zagato – as emphasized by the long nose, seemingly shorter wheelbase, two-door design and roofline.
In addition to headlights similar to those of the Opel Calibra, its angry “face features” include a special redesign of the famous Scudetto grille, bumper inlets on the bumper and a massive splitter – the latter apparently inspired by the Tonali, although some 27 years later, the Italians launched Their SUV in 2022 In addition, the subsequent 8C Competizione lines, produced between 2007 and 2010, are a little reminiscent of the prototype.
The Castagna Vittoria is also equipped with a new suspension system, and the Castagna Vittoria’s white exterior is matched by a dark green interior, at least as far as the two leather seats are concerned. In the passenger compartment, you can find an Alcantara cover in a similar colour, while the dashboard and the area around the gearbox are decorated with wood inlays. The arches are not visible even in their condition: there are only a few traces of wear.
Under the bonnet is a revised version of the 3.0-litre V6 Busso, whose 255bhp is sent to the rear axle via a five-speed manual gearbox. It can be assumed that it spent a good part of almost 30 years in a warehouse, because according to the watch’s testimony, only 2,500 kilometers were traveled during this time.
