Does Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red have destructible environments?

While Assassin’s Creed: Mirage will be released within a month from Ubisoft, the French publisher is holding several AC irons in the fire at the same time.

One is Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red (so it’s not the final name yet; it’s an open world RPG style game set in feudal Japan from Ubisoft Quebec) and the other is Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe (from Ubisoft Montréal, which is a darker game with a theme set in a witch hunt European). According to rumors, the first will be presented soon.

We have already heard that Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red will mainly rely on stealth, and it is possible that it will take over some items from Splinter Cell (Ubisoft is dealing with this again, don’t forget…), so it will be possible to hide in the shadows. On the other hand, Tom Henderson announced more of the game, which was not even presented in detail. According to him, the game will also feature a destructible environment. If we combine stealth and destruction, we can cut or hack doors to get closer to our opponents, who can surprise them and attack if they happen to be near the door. Henderson is quick to add that you don’t expect the destruction seen in Battlefield, so you can’t just break through every wall. Instead, we should believe that the environment provides opportunities for greater interaction.

According to Henderson, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red will have two heroes and their gameplay will be completely different. According to him, we will get a samurai and also a female shinobi/ninja. Not much is known about the female character, but it has been heard that the male is an African refugee and is based on a real character, Yasuke. He was the first documented black samurai, and he will attack aggressively, while the heroine will be more agile.

According to Henderson, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red will launch in early 2024, and Ubisoft plans to release it in late 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and it will reportedly be the first item in AC: Infinity. Hopefully this will pay off because Skull & Bones has been ridiculously slow for years now. Unofficial Henderson information!
