On the last day of the European Football Championship, the guest of the podium was NS Andras Schaeffer. The midfielder for the Hungarian national team was nine times one of the main players of the Hungarian national team in the continental championship, scored a goal against the Germans, and was voted by the NS Editorial Board and his readers as the best Hungarian player of the tournament. Zsolt Somogyi, an employee of the football department at National Sport, spoke to the footballer.

Andras Schäfer on what has changed in the Ebb result:
“I’m not different, I’m the same as before the European Championships. I’m getting more attention now, but I think I’m handling it well. My Dunaszerdahely teammates said it’s funny they thought I wouldn’t come back to them, of course they were very happy and congratulated me.”
About fan letters:
“I received a lot of congratulations and this is a great motivation. I also received a message that I will not quote because my girlfriend may not respond well…”
Tips for young people:
“You have to work with your head down. Most importantly, when it comes to a low point, it’s not the end. You can stand up and achieve beautiful things. I also had a year where I didn’t play, and I barely got a chance in Italy. But I learned from it, I was able to stand up.” This gives tremendous strength to my daily time.”
About IP:
“I haven’t processed what happened in the European Championship yet. I hope I can try something similar. I wished we could still play a home match in Puskas. We were touched by the crowd as if there was another player on the field. It makes everyone come together better. And they do better.”
“I enjoyed it all, I wasn’t afraid of Kylian Mbappe or Cristiano Ronaldo. I can’t even describe what these three games looked like. When you step against your childhood model – that’s Cristiano Ronaldo to me – you get the feeling that you’re not going to be excited but you trying to get the best of you”
About the target against the Germans:
“I saw the German defenders sleeping. When I ran towards the ball after Sdi Szalai’s pass, I noticed Neuer came out and saw that there was a place next to him because he was in a bad angle. After the goal I started screaming, I don’t even know what, then when Lasica fell I cried myself. I hope it doesn’t change target in any way.
About the future:
“I want to continue in a team where, if I play, I also have a chance to be in the national team in the national team. I am in a good place now, I don’t mind if I can stay in the DAC for half or a year.”
