This year, Moho is distributing the deposit fees for charity among three children's hospitals. HUF 31 million has been collected so far.

Since the introduction of the mandatory bottle exchange principle, about HUF 31 million has been collected from charitable donations. The received amount will be transferred at the end of the year, and until then the collection period will be completed – Mohu, the company that operates the system, announced the Index.huwith(When redeeming bottles with a deposit fee, three payment options can be selected at the machines: purchase on site, transfer to a bank account, and charitable donation.)

According to Moho, the beneficiaries of the charitable donations were selected by visiting children’s hospitals with priority areas of care and asking them to document their requests and purchasing needs in line with their current needs.

Beneficiaries of 2024 are:

  • Heim-Ball National Institute of Medicine (the amount offered will finance the renewal of the now outdated technical and medical digital technology at the institute).
  • Bethesda Children's Hospital.
  • Pediatric Clinic of Semmelweis University (they plan to purchase medical equipment for daily treatment from the grant).

By the way, the mandatory redemption got off to a rather shaky start, Moho later admitted: they did not expect the population to buy back so quickly, so “logistical” problems arose.
