The new rule applies to the three most common defaults.

The government has doubled the fines that NAV can impose, according to the latest Hungarian Gazette.

– The maximum fine for non-compliance will jump from HUF 200,000 to HUF 400,000.

– If someone hires undeclared workers, they can now be fined up to two million forints instead of the previous one million.

– The same penalty can be expected for those who do not comply with the obligation to issue invoices or keep documents.

The new penalty clauses take effect from August 1.
