Europe's best-selling Mitsubishi ASX has received a comprehensive update. This compact SUV also gets an all-new front fascia, which continues the brand's Dynamic Shield system. However, apart from the Mitsubishi lettering on the radiator grille – and the tailgate – it is identical to the Renault Captur, exactly as it was before the creases.
Like its French sibling, the ASX has also received a software tune-up, which primarily means virtual integration of Google services. Thus, in the new model, favorite places or frequent routes on maps can be accessed without a smartphone – a service previously unavailable at any European Mitsubishi. From now on, parking is also safer, with an improved parking assistant part of the package on certain equipment levels, which detects suitable spots for the car, but a rear cross-traffic monitoring system has also been included – making the maneuvering even safer.
In terms of the engine, there are no changes compared to before. A 1.0-litre petrol engine is available with a six-speed manual transmission, but it will also be available as a mild hybrid with the 1.3-litre engine, or as a full hybrid with a 1.6-litre petrol engine from June this year.
