Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has introduced a new feature called Link historyor in Hungarian Reference date Listens to the name. In practice, this means a switch that can be used to stop the monitoring of open links and the use of our browsing data for the social site.
The Facebook app has a built-in browser, and by default links open in that browser when you click on a post. The social site automatically saves links to pages and articles viewed through it, and this works practically like the history function in other browsers. In addition, this data is used in a non-surprising way to display ads, which means we are more likely to receive ads on relevant topics for which we have opened links or read articles.
New just introduced Link historyor in Hungarian Reference date The function allows you to turn off the saving of your browsing history within Facebook, so our browsing data will not be used either, at least in principle. It is important to note that the new key has not yet appeared for everyone. The timing of its release may vary from one region to another. If you have not seen it yet, it is worth waiting patiently.
This is how you can enable and disable saving the reference history:
- Click any link in the Facebook app to open the Facebook mobile browser.
- Click in the lower right corner More options icon (marked with three dots), then a Browser settings an opportunity.

Important: If you turn it off, your history will be deleted, but it may take up to 90 days before Meta actually deletes this data.
If you don't see the new option yet, you still have the option to manually delete your saved history, and the setting can be found in the same place. However, in this case, subsequent browsing data will be saved in the same way.
