FinTech Honeycomb: Over 1 million global merchants join Alipay+ with holiday offers

More than a million retail, food, tourism and hospitality merchants are participating in the promotion.

Alipay+ is a global cross-border digital marketing and payment solutions provider with five Asian e-wallet partners – AlipayHK (Hong Kong), GCash (Philippines), Kakao Pay (South Korea), TrueMoney (Thailand) and Touch ‘n Go eWallet (Malaysia) – in cooperation It launched its first promotional campaign at the end of the year with Asian and European retailers.

The promotion will target more than 1 million retail, food, tourism and hospitality merchants in places where Alipay+ is accepted, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore and several countries in Europe. During the campaign, participating e-wallet users can access a wide range of offers offered by Alipay + along with merchant partners in each destination.

By taking advantage of Alipay + marketing solutions, merchants can create and customize promotions in the form of digital coupons or instant discounts. To improve marketing efficiency and scalability, digital coupons can be distributed to several e-wallet applications at the same time.

In Europe, in France, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany, Alipay+ has launched several promotions and offers with local merchants, including French Printemps retail stores and city vending machines in Milan, Rome and Venice, to reward shoppers during the holiday season.

From now until January 31, 2023, Kakao Pay, GCash, TrueMoney and Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet users can get an instant discount of up to €10 when paying with that e-wallet at the respective merchants. In addition, French company Printemps is offering e-wallet users a 5 percent discount storewide and a free drink voucher at their Printemps Haussmann store.

Alipay + business coverage reached 2.5 million by November 2022. Its agent network includes a wide range of regional and global digital entertainment providers, lifestyle service providers, e-commerce platforms and physical stores covering major airports, shopping malls, duty free shops, convenience stores, cafes and restaurants, and tourist facilities.

Alipay + global business coverage by sector includes more than 1,000 online platforms, more than 10 major airports, more than 90,000 convenience stores, more than 360,000 restaurants, nearly 200,000 taxis and major hotel brands, convenience stores Department stores, duty-free shops, tourist facilities in Asia and in Europe.
