Five of the five Hungarian victories are in the semi-finals of the Junior European Cup

The girls started the semi-finals of the European Open Junior Triathlon Cup organized as part of the Tiszaújváros Triathlon Festival. Two 500-meter totals had to be completed on Dísztó’s designated swimming course. One cycling distance was 12 km, while a running track in the city center had to be completed in two circuits, for a total of 3.2 km.

After swimming the first race, fans were able to enjoy partial Hungarian success thanks to Nóra Romina Nádas. In the middle race, Nora and Briton Isabella Hayes made a successful escape and after cycling they could start the last race, the sprint, with an advantage of almost a minute. After 1,600 metres, Nora Romina Nedas was alone in the lead, with the British girl half a minute behind. The order did not change until the finish line was reached, and a confident Hungarian race victory was born. Among the top 14 finalists on Sunday were fourth-placed Lilly Doby, fifth-placed Zora Philip, eighth-placed Laura Zupacci, 11th-placed Sara Balogh, 12th-placed Vivian Fabok, 13th-Princess Kulxar, as well as Hanna Bartok.

Three of the boys’ semi-finals were held at the same time. In the first race, Márton Kropkó took the lead, being the first to lower the record by 17 seconds. Donat Rosavolgi followed him to the third warehouse. A group of six got together for a bike ride, and the Hungarian boys were joined by Raoul Peter from Romania, Lawrence Martindale from Britain, Christian Hatting from South Africa and Pablo Benko from Croatia. However, in the second shift, they were not “muscular”, having only 13 seconds behind the second team led by Trung Nagy Kolos. After 1,600 metres, Marton Krupko was leading, followed by Kolos Trogel-Nagy. There were no changes in the second 1600 meters, and Poland’s Jakub Suchan came third. Donat Rozavulje V, Akos Karpaty VII and Benedik Heisman IX rounded out the top nine finalists.

In the second boy’s semi-final, Zalan Hobor ensured that the winning streak of the Hungarians after swimming was not interrupted, and Sebastien Pal Kinda-Kirchknopf came to the beach in third place. A group of 10 members was assembled to ride the bike, which also included Györfi Szabolcs, Székely Konrad and Márkus Noel from the Hungarian side. Monostori Botond was 35 seconds behind the chasers. At the end of the first round of the race, the Israelis Zalan Hobor and Eyal Weinstein were 15 seconds behind the others, who did not catch up with them in the second half of the distance. The winner was Zalán Hobor, who had excellent hair. András Szűcs qualified 4th, Márkus Noel qualified 5th, Konrád Székely 7th, while Sebestyén Pál Kendeh-Kirchknopf qualified 8th.

In the boys’ third heat, after a swim, Giula Gergo Suss and Giula Kovacs showed the others the way to the bike depot. The two Hungarian boys worked well together in the middle lane, which was rewarded with a 40-second advantage. Throughout the race, Giula Kovac was in charge, who came to the finish line first, ahead of Jirgo Suss and Zalan Trogel-Nagy. Tibor Fehir was fifth, Honor Chijani-Bank was eighth and Lehel Hobor was ninth.

The two competitors with the best times for the girls and the one with the best three times for the boys also make it to the finals.
