Epic Games' joy was short-lived: although Apple restored it to the developer account of the company's Swedish subsidiary (this was already mentioned in today's news), it may have had other reasons.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 was supposed to start yesterday, but Epic Games announced that while the game was offline, it experienced an unexpected error and it is not easy to recover. The developers encountered this during maintenance, and because of this, the game's offline state had to be extended for at least eight hours (!) They apologized that the new content update for the Battle Royale game would not be released until later. Planned. The developers are working hard to fix this unnamed bug and will report back when they have more information.
Then last night, at 10 Hungarian time (about seven hours after their first tweet), they were still working on bringing back Fortnite, and then they roughly wrote it. Within five hours, at 3am this morning, the updated Fortnite v29.00 version can already be pre-loaded. Then around 5 a.m., there was a glitch with shopping, item exchange, and matchmaking, which the studio fixed at 7 a.m., but stability issues arose on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series Epic Games is still working on it.
The problem is not that a large content update is not smooth. This usually happens. Fortnite is no exception. However, it is rare for changing the season and expanding content to take much longer than usual, since all this was done using a home-made engine, so it cannot be assumed that they are not familiar with the technology.
However, we did not expect such a large gap, and since it can still be said that Fortnite has been relatively successful with many crossovers, Epic Games has not performed so well.
