Turn 10 has sadly revealed that three promised features will be missing from Forza Motorsport at launch. Only with a subsequent update will a split screen mode be added, among other things.
A Turn 10 official confirmed this in Forza’s regular monthly video stream Not ready for premiere Forza Motorsport’s split-screen mode, as well as spectator mode, and we won’t have the chance to compete against AI in multiplayer. Let’s say we don’t regret the latter, because the point is only when we test ourselves against real players.
Creative director Chris Isaki explained the lack of spit screen support by saying that “Unfortunately, the serious effort invested in developing our new graphics features and an overhaul of the rendering engine made it very difficult to implement split-screen mode, so it will not be available at launch.”
Of course, all three functions will be added to the hat with a later update, but that still means that the new Forza Motorsport will have less of a premiere than previous episodes. We understand developers’ desire to put priority elsewhere, after all, our resources aren’t infinite either. Forza Motorsport will be released on October 10, 2023 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
