Four thousand dogs are looking for a home in the United States

About 4,000 beagles were rescued by animal rescuers from a breeding and research facility in Virginia. The police accuse the establishment of animal cruelty.

The US Department of Justice and the animal rescue company are currently working to rescue the puppies from the Envigo Breeding and Research Facility in Cumberland after a federal judge approved their request to remove the animals. The New York Post reported on it. Rescuers have about 60 days to remove the dogs from the facility, obtain necessary medical care, such as vaccinations and spays, and find new homes for them.

The dogs were bred at the Envigo facility and later sold to pharmaceutical companies for a profit. Federal inspectors found a malnourished, sick and wounded beagle at the facility. According to court documents, the dogs were kept in cages where excrement and food waste accumulated.

According to a complaint against Envigo, more than 300 puppies died at the facility. Because of the horrific conditions, federal authorities began legal proceedings last year.

4,000 Beagles, which are known to be family dogs, are being handed over to rescue organizations and home builders across the country. Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, a Virginia-based local nonprofit dog rescue organization, helps run the massive operation.
