On Hon Hai Tech Day 2021, the world’s largest electronics manufacturer unveiled its self-developed electric vehicles, with which it wants to enter the world of car manufacturers with variants designed precisely to fit the customer’s image. The Model C is a compact recreational vehicle, with 5+2 seating in a 4.64-meter body, a drag coefficient of Cw 0.27, and thanks to the range extender, it can cover more than 700 kilometers on a single charge.
Dubbed the E-model, the mid-size limousine was developed in collaboration with Pininfarina, and the second row of seats can also be designed as a commercial and luxury limousine. It has already been revealed that 750 hp is the power of the system for the drivetrains, which is enough to sprint 2.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h, and the range is 750 km – there is likely to be a range extender on board, but this is not clear from the press. Last but not least, the bus called the Model T (until the Ford legal department sued for the name…) is a city vehicle with a range of 400 km, with prototypes already covering 200,000 km. Hon Hai Precision Industries wants to build its global manufacturing network over the next five years – it has invested in a startup called Lordstown in the US – and in parallel wants to launch vehicle manufacturing, which it hopes will have a multibillion-dollar electronics business similar to a contract manufacturing .
