France is the seventh largest economy in the world and a major player in European Union politics. According to opinion polls, head of state Emmanuel Macron and sovereign right-winger Marine Le Pen have a chance of advancing to the second round on April 24.

After a long period of time between France and its foreign administrations, many places will vote on Saturday, including the archipelagos of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon off the east coast of Canada, or French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Polynesia.
By the way, there was a silence campaign in France on Saturday. Polling stations open at eight o’clock on Sunday morning. The second round of presidential elections will be held on April 24.
