France is the seventh largest economy in the world and a major player in European Union politics. According to opinion polls, head of state Emmanuel Macron and sovereign right-winger Marine Le Pen have a chance of advancing to the second round on April 24.
Among the starters, analysts considered, besides Macron, six politicians to be important candidates, three from the left and three from the right: the radical left Jean-Luc MelenchonT, the leader of a political movement called France of the Immortal, which also has a chance to reach the second round, Yannick GadotWho is the candidate of the Socialist Green Party? After a long period of time between France and its foreign administrations, many places will vote on Saturday, including the archipelagos of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon off the east coast of Canada, or French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Polynesia.
By the way, there was a silence campaign in France on Saturday. Polling stations open at eight o’clock on Sunday morning. The second round of presidential elections will be held on April 24.
