FSZB: The American Center has installed malware on phones

US spy services infected thousands of iPhones with malware in Russia, including those used by foreign companies – the Russian Security Service (FSSB) reported on Thursday.

According to the report by the FSB, a security check of Russia’s communications infrastructure revealed an anomaly specific to Apple mobile phone users only, which was caused by the operation of previously unknown malware that “exploited government-controlled software vulnerabilities.”


The FSB said that the information obtained “indicates close cooperation between Apple and the (US) national intelligence services, especially the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States.”

In the sense of the statement, “the personal data privacy policy announced by the company does not cover the truth.”


According to the Russian service, the monitoring included not only Russian users, but also foreign numbers and SIM cards used by Russian diplomatic missions. The latter included post-Soviet NATO countries, but the FSB also mentioned Israel, Syria and China.
