Gemini in Google Messages is no longer exclusive to Pixel and Galaxy phones – PCW

The requirements for using chatbots have been significantly relaxed.

After releasing ChatGPT in the fall of 2022, Google also jumped into the world of AI, albeit at a forced pace, launching a few months later its own chatbot called Bard, which was initially powered by the PaLM (MA). The AI service was later moved to Gemini, which today is Google's brand for AI solutions.

At the beginning of the year, Google launched a Gemini chatbot built into the Messages app, which can only be used if you have a Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy device. As it turns out, the company quietly tweaked the requirements that day, so that the Gemini chatbot in Google's chat app is no longer a privilege for Pixel and Galaxy phones.

Company Recently announcedThat Gemini has become available in the Hindi version of Messages – this is clearly not what interests us now. In parallel with the announcement, the support page was updated, so it turns out that the only condition for using the chatbot is to have an Android mobile phone with 6 GB or more of RAM – no more, no less.

By the way, this is not the only India-focused news coming out of Google. The Gemini app and the advanced version of the chatbot are also now available in the region – launching with support for English and nine Indian languages.
