Gergely Golias was greeted by demonstrators in Jerusalem

The demonstrators welcomed Gergli Julius, who was visiting Jerusalem Jerusalem Post. The minister in charge of the Prime Minister’s Office was giving an interview to the newspaper at the King David Hotel in the capital on Wednesday, when 25-30 demonstrators appeared in front of the building, whistling and shouting to indicate how unwelcome the Hungarian minister’s presence was.

“Here is a representative of the Hungarian government, which in our eyes represents the most anti-democratic regime in Europe. We are very worried because we do not want the same thing to happen here,” one of the demonstrators told the local newspaper. According to the demonstrators, the judicial reform plan will lead to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to a system similar to the Hungarian democracy.

Meanwhile, at home, Gergely Gulias spoke, among other things, of the fact that there is no doubt that the Hungarian government operates democratically, he defended the often criticized Hungarian judicial system, and then also noted that Hungary, in His opinion, like Israel’s, is often harshly criticized and isolated.

“One member of the Israeli government told me that, in his opinion, Hungary is in a similar position in the European Union as Israel is in the Arab world,” Gulias said.

In the conversation, Sweden’s accession to NATO was also discussed, which Gulias says the government opposes because Sweden often maintains that there is no rule of law in Hungary.
