One of the leading players in the world of professional keyboards has introduced an entirely new technology that is superior to the mechanical switches used today.
Hungarian gamers are already familiar with Ducky keyboards: reliable, robust, stylish and highly customizable models with a very long warranty. The Ducky One Series 2 and 3 are followed by the 3 Pro, which operates with 8000Hz polling and continues to use one of the best mechanical switches available today, the Cherry series.
At the COMPUTEX exhibition, we saw a couple of new models, of which the old IBM model immediately became our favorite, but the blue, yellow and snow-white color in all its elements is also attractive (although the latter is not easy to find. Keep clean) .
Also new is a unique, limited-edition keyboard made for the Year of the Dragon with transparent button covers, and we must not forget Project Outlaw, which is actually not a complete and ready-made keyboard, but an assembly kit – by opening the case, you assemble your own keyboard, in which you place The most perfect keychain for you. The company has also cashed in on the Fallout fever, so the Vault-Tec version, which was made in just 1,000 copies, will this year be followed by the 60% Nuka Cola version (now with a larger number of copies).
However, the most important novelty of Ducky is not related to modification, but to a completely new keyboard structure, in which there are the latest Cherry switches operating on the induction principle. Today, many manufacturers make analog mechanical switches, but all of them use Hall effect sensors to detect the effect, that is, they register a button press when the magnetic field changes.
However, the Cherry MX Multipoint series has small coils on the PCB, whose electric field changes as soon as the metal spike mounted in the mechanical switches gets close to them. This solution provides a more balanced and uniformly accurate detection point, consumes less and is more durable than the solution known for older mechanical switches.
The new technology will appear in the Ducky One The interesting thing about the new keyboards, which can be connected via Bluetooth or through your wireless solution, is that they include seven layers of noise reduction, and you can save your settings in six profiles, for which it is no longer necessary to install additional software, you just need Use a web service available from the browser for configuration.
