GreenZone ZKSE cyclists competed in an international field in Debrecen // Egerszegi Hírek

October 22, 2024, 10:14 am

Over the weekend, VeloPark in Debrecen was the venue for the first and second rounds of the UEC Cyclo-cross European Youth Cup, organized for the U17-U23 age group. The U15 age group was also not left without the opportunity to compete, as they could test their mettle in one of the European Cup races on both days. The strong international field included cyclists from GreenZone ZKSE in Zalaegerszeg.

The course layout was the same on both days, with only the direction of competition changing on the second day. For some, one direction was better, while for others the other was better, but there were quite a few who created outstanding works on both days. The competitors from Zalaegerszeg performed well on both days and managed to run good races. Among the competitors at GreenZone ZKSE, Regina Bruchner and Máté Bruchner both took home medals. On the second day, Regina won the women's under-23 race, while Matty won bronze in the boys' under-15 race on both days.

It is important to know that the points earned here for the UCI C2 age category are mainly counted towards the starting order of the European Cyclo-cross Championship in November, while at the same time the Junior and UCI C2 age categories are also awarded the UCI C2 category points in these competitions. The series will continue in Romania within a week and end in Slovakia in mid-November.
