Derbyshire Police published a post on Twitter on Saturday, which reported that the sixty-nine-year-old had defrauded insurance companies, according to The Guardian. BBC.
“This driver did not pass any test despite being 69 years old and having driven for nearly 50 years,” the police said in a statement.
The driver was able to mislead the insurance companies by providing information proving that he had always carried his driver’s license. “The ostentatiousness put an end to his vile plan,” the police said.
The elderly man was stopped at a local mall, where his car was also impounded. The driver has also been reported for numerous violations.
Driving without a license is not a unique phenomenon in the UK.
The most egregious case concerned an eighty-four-year-old man who had traveled the British roads from the age of twelve, that is, for more than seventy years, without ever taking an exam.
