There has been no US ambassador to Hungary since David Kornstein’s resignation on September 15, 2020, but that may soon change.
US President Joe Biden nominated candidates for several positions last night, including David Pressman, who could be America’s ambassador to Hungary if the Senate approves his appointment.
David Pressman, 45, is a Democrat, who holds the presidency, and has ties to Hollywood, having previously worked for the George and Amal Clooney Foundation. In 2008 a Los Angeles Times He referred to George Clooney as his “adviser”.
Along with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and Jerry Weintraub, Pressman was one of the founders of Project Not On Our Watch, an advocacy and aid humanitarian organization focused on mass atrocities.
Pressman also served as an assistant to the late US Secretary of State Madeleine K.
At the United Nations, Pressman has represented the United States at the UN Security Council and in negotiations on a number of threats to international peace and security, particularly in Europe, Russia, East Asia and the Pacific, and Africa.
The White House wrote that Pressman received his bachelor’s degree from Brown University and then his JD from New York University School of Law.
