Hedges and Team Canada are competing in the Paralympic finals

fort st. JOHN, BC – Wonowon product Bo Hedges and Canada's senior men's wheelchair basketball team will compete in the final Paralympic qualifiers April 12-15.

The top four teams from the IWBF Repechage Men's Championship in Antibes, France, earn a spot at the Paralympic Games in Paris from August 28 to September 8.

“We are becoming more and more a cohesive unit,” Hedges said in an interview with The Guardian. Canadian Paralympic Committee 2024. ''We trust what we do and we trust each other. “This will be key for us if we want to qualify.”

If Team Canada earns a spot in the Paralympics, it will be Hedges' fifth appearance at the Games.

Teams competing in the eight-nation tournament are divided into two groups of four.

Group A teams include Canada, the Netherlands, Iran and France. The second group consists of Colombia, Germany, Morocco and Italy.

Team Canada begins the tournament against the Netherlands at 9:30 a.m. ET on April 12.

In March, Hedges was nominated for BC Sports Athlete of the Year in the Athlete with Disability category.

The women's national team will participate in the repechage tournament in Japan from April 17 to 20.

Both tournaments will be broadcast live on CBC Sports digital platforms, including the free CBC Gem streaming service, cbcsports.ca, and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices.
