The OAG, which collects travel data, has produced its latest statistics On the accuracy of airlines for the year 2022 It published a list of the most punctual airlines in the world. The world’s 250 largest airlines, measured by capacity (ASK), participated in the survey. On-time flights are those that departed or arrived within 15 minutes of the schedule, and canceled flights were considered delayed flights.
Garuda Indonesia has been named the world’s most punctual airline based on 2022, with 95.6 percent of its flights arriving on time.
But OAG adds that the airline’s capacity is well below pre-coronavirus times, as a quarter of its 2019 flights were launched last year.
South African discount airline Sapphire was second and Eurowings, a member of the Lufthansa Group, was third.Both airlines had more than 95 percent of the planes arrive on time. At the same time, it should be noted that among the top 20 airlines, Eurowings had the largest number of canceled flights in 2022, and 3.49 percent of its flights did not take off.

Among US airlines, Delta Air Lines was the only one in the top 20 most punctual, arriving 81.79 percent of its flights on time, and the airline canceled 1.94 percent of flights.
Among the airports, Japanese airports dominated, 10 out of the 20 most punctual airports are in Japan, led by Osaka International Airport, where 91.45 percent of flights arrived last year. No airport in North America or Europe is on the list of the most punctual airports.
“The rate of on-time flights is reaching pre-pandemic levels as airlines try to relieve pressure on operations and reduce delays,” commented John Grant, senior analyst at OAG. “Confidence in a recovery in travel is growing as airlines order new aircraft, announce new routes and employment challenges appear to abate.”
