They were among the best selling products Apple AirPods and Amazon products like the Echo Dot smart speaker or Fire TV media playerbut Nintendo Switch consoles, Hasbro Gaming Connect 4 board games, and Champion apparel are also selling well.
Amazon hasn’t shared exact sales numbers for the five-day period (from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday), which is typically the busiest holiday period. The company said sales of independent companies selling through Amazon exceeded $1 billion over the weekend. The company’s fourth-quarter results will give a more accurate picture of the holiday shopping season, CNBC reports.
According to Adobe Analytics, consumers spent $9.12 billion on Black Friday, up 2.3% from the same period last year, and Cyber Monday sales rose 5.8% to $11.3 billion.
The outlook for this year’s holiday shopping season wasn’t overly optimistic, with many analysts predicting that consumers would spend more consciously due to runaway inflation. But so far, the data shows that consumers are buying, and retailer discounts seem very attractive.
