Here's a warning: You don't have to throw away expired foods

The campaign is necessary to clarify product labels,

Many products can be safely consumed even after their expiration date.

Nébih's latest No Leftover Food Waste Prevention Program guide describes what type of food can be used for approx. Customers of Auchan stores receive stickers with which they can mark products that are close to expiration at home. Through this initiative, they want to encourage consumers to review their household supplies so that as few of them end up in the trash as possible.

According to the announcement, the clarification is also justified because anyone can receive food that has passed its expiration date as a donation. Meanwhile, local households waste approximately 250,000 tons of food every yearwhich has a total value of approximately 380 billion HUF – as stated in Auchan Még jó! On his campaign website.

Eggs can be consumed two weeks after their expiration date, and canned goods can be consumed for up to one year after that.

If its packaging is undamaged, its storage and transportation comply with regulations, and no suspicious changes appear.
