The first official stills from the upcoming Peaky Blinders film have arrived, showing Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Tommy Shelby.
Meanwhile, Netflix announced that filming has officially begun. Tom Harper, who has previously directed several episodes of the series, serves as director.
Gangs of Birmingham debuted on BBC Two in 2013 before Netflix acquired US distribution rights. The series ended in 2022, with the sixth season, and shortly after it was announced that a film would be made that would conclude the story once and for all.
“It seems like Tommy Shelby isn't done with me yet… It's really exciting to be working with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on Peaky Blinders. This is for the fans,” Murphy previously told diverse On his question.
The film's screenplay has been written by series creator Steven Knight, but a release date has not yet been announced.
