Every year, Time Out magazine compiles a list of the city’s most fun, interesting, and trendy neighborhoods. This year, one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia took first place, but those who prefer European locations should not be discouraged either: our continent was represented by five different cities in the ten-city shortlist.
Every year, Time Out magazine compiles a ranking of the world’s most distinctive city neighborhoods, writes A CNN. The gold medalist in this year’s list was Colombia’s vibrant and beautiful city, the dynamically developing city of Medellin, whose neighborhood called Laureles is famous for its lively nightlife and football stadium Estadio Atanasio Girardot. Furthermore, the area is also home to Colombian musicians J Balvin and Karol G.
According to Time Out, Laureles does not yet have a reputation befitting its rank, although it has so far successfully resisted the gentrification typical of most parts of Medellin, and can even be called a unique neighborhood simply because it faithfully preserves local cultural traditions. .
Incidentally, the list also includes European neighbourhoods: in the short list of ten, we also find Havnen in Copenhagen and Smithfield in Dublin, which are included in the total for the first time. Hong Kong’s Sheung Wan district ranked highly in the rankings, as did Mid-City, one of the jewels of New Orleans and famous for its great gastronomy.
The 10 list also includes Carabanchel (Madrid, Spain), Brunswick East (Melbourne, Australia), Isola (Milan, Italy), West (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Tomigaya (Tokyo, Japan).
