A woman in England has had her lungs shrunk by 80 percent, but she says the doctor made a mistake.
A negligent doctor missed obvious signs on an X-ray and sent a patient home with a collapsed lung.
The woman in question Olivia Smith According to him, that night in London, he had a good time with his friends, celebrated their birthday and had cocktails. Suddenly he felt a distinct pain in his chest. Having had two collapsed lungs before, he was sure a third would happen.
He was immediately taken to the hospital, but the emergency center doctor sent him home because the woman seemed fine and the test results did not indicate a collapsed lung. According to the 22-year-old woman, the doctor wanted to simply get rid of her, but he gave up and went home. But soon after, he had to return because his symptoms worsened.
Doctors who took a second look at the young woman found that her lungs had shrunk by 80 percent, and were shocked when she was originally sent home. He was then transferred to another hospital where he was treated for 10 days before his lungs recovered enough for surgery.
The woman is better now, but it still bothers her that they didn't believe her and didn't realize there was a big problem.
