Last year, Huawei surprised everyone when it announced the Mate 60 Pro with a 7nm chipset with a 5G modem, as well as components that would otherwise not have been available to the Chinese manufacturer due to sanctions. While we wait for the new Mate models, a reliable leaker claims that the series will be delayed and will not be released in China until the end of this year.
A source of information Digital Chat Stationwho claims that the Huawei Mate 70 models could be introduced to the Chinese public in the middle of the fourth quarter of 2024 at the earliest (i.e. in November), and at worst by the end of the year. The insider did not provide an explanation for the possible reasons for the slippage.
According to the leaker’s report, there will be quite a few improvements to the new series, whose members will be powered by the new and more advanced Kirin 9100 chipset. The chipset will be used in a 1.5K (roughly equivalent to 1440p in Chinese) LTPO OLED display. 3D facial recognition technology is embedded in the display.
The primary camera is again mounted behind an adjustable aperture lens, and an OmniVision OV50K sensor could be placed inside. The Huawei Mate 70 could be equipped with a larger silicon battery than the current one. According to the leaker, the battery capacity will exceed 5,000 mAh.
