Hundreds of dolphins surrounded the man's boat.

Tom Waddington Attempting to row across the Atlantic Ocean alone, the man set off from the coast of Newfoundland towards Penzance in the United Kingdom, as he wrote. NPROn July 7, Waddington encountered a large pod of bottlenose dolphins in the Atlantic Ocean, and the animals followed him for hours, eventually growing to several hundred.

The man filmed a video of the incident, which clearly shows a large number of dolphins swimming around him. Waddington thought the sight was amazing, but at the same time he was afraid the animals would hit him, and one of them ended up crashing into his boat.

After a while, he tried to distract the dolphins, but they gathered for more than two hours.

By his estimate, he was eventually accompanied by about a thousand animals.

Fortunately, there were no injuries. The dolphins were just playing, but they were large and heavy animals, so the story could have ended in a capsize.

According to the ground crew, the individuals could be long-winged bottlenose dolphins. This species is found in the North Atlantic, the Mediterranean and southern waters, and is a very social animal that moves in large groups.

Waddington, who works as a surf instructor, set out to raise money for a mental health charity run by actor Stephen Fry. Ultimately, the animals did no damage to the boat, and the man is now making good progress towards his goal thanks to favourable winds and waves.
