Hungarian racers finished the previous race weekend in points

Kevin Farkas achieved his best finish of the year in the Red Bull Rookie Cup, and in rainy conditions. Tibor Varga was in fatigue, while Balázs Surányi was in pain with a crash, but both scored points in the Spanish Superbike Championship and the World Supermoto Championship.

In addition to the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 drivers, the Red Bull Rookies Cup field also competed in Mugello this weekend, so Kevin Farkas can once again compare his skills to his opponents. He managed to finish 20th in the time trial, then had to stand in the rain for the first race. The Hungarian cyclist competed in such conditions for the first time, but held his own so well that he achieved his best result to date, finishing eleventh.

In the second race, he just missed out on the scoring points, finishing in 16th place and was only three thousand behind Amaury Mizera, who finished in front of him. With this, and after four rounds, he finished 22nd overall, with 5 points to his name. He will compete next in Assen in two weeks, where he will not visit the Red Bull Rookie Cup Sachsenring.

After finishing on the podium in Valencia, this time Tibor Varga competed in Estoril in the stock class of the Spanish Superbike Championship. He finished ninth in qualifying and maintained it in the first race as well. According to him, on the third lap, his right forearm “burst” from the load, which primarily hindered him during acceleration, since he had to re-grip the accelerator pedal several times, which was a significant drawback.

It was the first time in his career that he had experienced such a thing in a race, and he clearly aimed to prevent it from happening again the next day. This time, the start was weaker, but after two laps he had already overtaken four of his rivals behind him. After that, he tried to ride relaxed, but on lap five the previous day’s incident was repeated so he had no chance of getting another podium.

Balázs Surányi made his debut in the third round of the Supermoto World Championship in the S1GP class. He qualified 14th in his group, which would have been 9th in the other group, but had to participate in a last chance race to qualify for the main race. He succeeded after starting from seventh place and finished fourth.

In the first race, he moved up from twenty-fourth to twenty-second when one of his opponents pulled his bike (he said he was partly to blame), causing him to fall. He had to catch up to the 27th, and was finally able to move up to the 20th. Due to a fall, he had to deal with a muscle fever and a spasm in his right shoulder, but was able to improve in the sprint and this time finished 22nd. Accordingly, he was able to start the super final from here, and although he was 17th at one point, he ended up in first place. The Hungarian contender is 34th in total with 4 points, and among the beginners he has 44 points, which is enough for 15th place.
