You don't need to go next door or even to a new game to make this year's Halloween truly spooky: events like these are coming to your games.
10/21/2024 – The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder, and Halloween is just around the corner. At this time, we are not only receptive to scary horror movies, but also scary games, and that's why developers and publishers are not missing the opportunity: they are busy filling existing games, even those that are not necessarily originally from the horror genre, with more content. Halloween themed events. If a movie marathon isn't enough, it's worth jumping into a game like Dead by Daylight, Fortnite, or Call of Duty, which are sure to ramp up the tension. One of the best things about modern games is that many of them are gearing up for the holidays with special occasions: creepy cosmetic updates are everywhere throughout October. Here are what we think are the best Halloween-themed events of the season that you shouldn't miss.
Call of Duty – Haunting
Call of Duty brings the creepy The Haunting event almost every year. This year, in Season 6 of Modern Warfare 3, in addition to multiplayer, the terrifying atmosphere will be added to Warzone. New horror-inspired Drive Thru and Mad Cow tracks promise horror-like thrills, while Mutation and Infected game modes are also included in the lineup. In Warzone, players are waiting for a special Hellspawn event on Rebirth Island. With the help of the new Purgatory mode, teams can compete with each other while supernatural events disturb the spirits. The battles take place in the dark of night in the Vondel Stadium, and in the Season 6 Battle Pass you can also get the Agent Michael Myers skin.
Hello Kitty: Island Adventure – A spooky celebration
If you want a slightly more relaxed experience, Hello Kitty: Island Adventure also has a spooky atmosphere. Throughout the month, you can collect Spooky Treats points to purchase Halloween-themed items at the Holiday Kiosk in Resort Plaza. Do you want a gothic fence or island lights? Now is your chance! Additionally, you can get daily rewards if you log in during the event.
Dead in broad daylight – haunted by daylight
Dead by Daylight won't be left out of the party either: the Haunted by Daylight event awaits players between October 17 and November 17. The fan-favorite 2v8 mode returns – with new assassins, maps and abilities. You can get Ellen Ripley-themed items, as well as new sets from Kate Denson, Adam Francis, and Zarina Kassir. Additionally, a Castlevania-inspired Dominus folder has been added to the game.
Fortnite – Fortnite Nightmares
After the event titled Dr. Doom, Fortnitemares has arrived with new skins and items. Among other things, the terrifying Marshmello skin is available in the store, as well as the Leatherface and Boom Billy skins as part of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw crossovers. The courses have been covered in Halloween-themed cosmetic updates, but that's not all: the Venom-themed Symbiote Cup coming out on October 22 is sure to be a hit.
GTA Online – Slashers Event
In the Halloween-themed event, players can battle terrifying killers such as the Clown Slasher, Driver Slasher, and Psycho in various locations in Los Santos. When you are walking alone at night, you will easily stumble upon a killer, who of course will attack you immediately, and you will have to defeat him in order to survive and get various rewards. Special masks, vehicles, weapons, and other Halloween-inspired cosmetic items can be obtained during the event, while double GTA$ and RP are awarded for Payphone Hits missions. Additional seasonal items, e.g. Face painting, car horns and gesture characters are also now available in Los Santos stores.
