The final season of the hit Netflix series has arrived, and the first few episodes of Emily in Paris Season 2 were instantly devoured not only by series junkies, but also by fashionistas — including us, of course.
We caught up with Emily Cooper again on Thursday, August 15th. (Lily Collins)Who happens to be his British friend Alfie. In fact, Emily has become more gloomy and annoying than ever in season 4, although her style has become more and more flawless. Although she has not yet said goodbye to her favorite bright colors and mixing patterns, costume designer Marlene Fitoussi has done her best to make the character embody French elegance.

As a tribute to Parisian chic and capitalist fashion, countless French brands were substituted in the character's wardrobe, so we saw them in creations by Miu Miu, Germanier, Balmain, Jacquemus, Schiaparelli, Vaillant and Coperni. In addition, emerging international brands such as Kate Barton, Magda Butrym, Thom Browne, Korean Pushbutton and Vietnamese designer Do Manh Cuong's Sixdo brand were also highlighted. However, Fitoussi focuses more on the relationship with the clothes than on the inclusion of big names.
“Being a romantic, I have to fall in love with pieces that help tell the story. Whether it’s affordable, a big brand, or a young designer—it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that the pieces help tell the story and give the emotional charge the character needs.” – said Marilyn Fitoussi about Emily's style. In parallel with all this, for the first time in the character's wardrobe, androgynous style features play a major role, and in some places a kind of tribute to the one and only Audrey Hepburn can be detected.
Our favorite look
You can already guess from previous episodes that in the first five episodes of season four we didn't have to search for a memorable look with a magnifying glass. Throughout each episode, the cast showed off a fair number of great outfits. We still love Mindy and Camille's style, as we can see in Sylvie, who doesn't need a stylist to create the perfect ensembles, because if anything, she has Parisian chic running through her veins. But as we explained above, Emily's wardrobe is probably the strongest right now – we'll show you why we think so.
Emily as a conscious customer?
Although last season ended badly for Emily, the new season is very much in the fashion game. The main character looked very stylish in the ensemble he wore in the first scene. You can get the green floral set, matching Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini corset, and pink Jacquemus jacket for around $600. However, not only did his “material consciousness” show, but his passion for accessories was also on display. The green Kate Spade bag gave the ensemble a perfect summery feel, and her shoes proved that she is on trend.

This season, Emily took layering to a truly masterful level. This was best demonstrated when she created a fun, office-ready outfit by pairing it with a crisp white button-down shirt and a checkered tie. It’s a style trick we think we’ll all want to try this fall.

Let's leave it to Emily to adapt her signature look to today's trends, as she seems to be doing it very well. This was also proven by the yellow and black checkered dress, which she wore over a white ruffled blouse and completed with a matching bow. It's no coincidence that the Spinédzers and Cher Horowitz come to mind for the school uniform she willingly wears.
The beauty of simplicity
However, Emily was inspired not only by Cher Horowitz’s style, but also by another prominent fashion icon. The series’ main character could once again put Blair Waldorf’s favorite accessory in the spotlight, as she took our breath away in one episode with her headband set. However, this time, she didn’t vote for a bow or a statement piece, but instead voted for a simple black piece that can even be found at drugstores. It may come as a surprise, but nothing else would have made the red and black striped sweater look as classic and modern as this one.

Although Emily loves to mix and match styles, this time she opted for a matching shirt and skirt set, and we can’t help but express how much we love this new style on her. She looked incredibly chic in her Missoni shirt and skirt. Of course, it’s different from what we’re used to from her, as this ensemble showed a more mature side, especially with that high jewelry and pinned up hairstyle. Now we can only hope that this will lead to more mature decisions in the continuation of the series…
