In Season 3 of The Witcher, an old acquaintance from the first video game reappears, but he doesn’t enjoy his return for long!

Movie news – The final season of the hit Netflix series features a character who may be more familiar to video game fans than novel readers. Who is it and why is it important? We’ll tell you!

In the first part of The Witcher season 3, Geralt is given a special mission: he must kill an assassin who commits assassinations against kings. The killer’s name is The Professor, and he’s a strange-looking figure: bald, bespectacled, and wears glasses. The Professor is nothing more than a side character in the Witcher novels, who also faces Geralt in the first game.

The Professor appears in the novels as Ralf Blunden and was part of the team of assassins hired by Nilfgaard to capture Ciri. The rest of the team included Leo Bonhart, Rence, and Skellin. However, she never met Professor Ciri because Geralt killed her in Broquelon Forest.

In the video games, the Professor got a different story and was a member of a criminal organization called Salamandra that wanted to get mutagens that could be used to make new butter. The professor has tried to kill Geralt several times, but always unsuccessfully. Finally, the final confrontation took place in Vizima, where Geralt beheaded him.

In the Netflix series, The Return of the Professor is a clear nod to the video games, as he wears the same glasses as in the first game. The creators of the series also noted that they respect and appreciate the video game fans who have done so much to popularize the Witcher universe. However, the Professor did not enjoy his return for long, as Geralt beheaded him again, ending this chapter once and for all.
