MTI wrote that ten thousand dollars (2.98 million forints) was given to workers by a guest at a restaurant in Florida.
A dinner guest at the Wahoo Seafood Grill in Gainesville, North Florida, last Tuesday night after he, his wife and son called the crew of ten men after a meal and tipped them $10,000 for their “hard work” to share.
Sean Shepherd, owner of Wahoo, told The Gainesville Sun that one of his employees called him Tuesday night and told him about the huge tip. Shepard began to doubt first. Advise the employee to look at the name on the credit card.
However, the restaurant station agreed to the reference. Shepherd added that he checked in the next day and the money was already in their account.
The way you looked at the boys while they were getting money was almost as good as a Christmas present
said the owner.
He is very grateful to the guest for his generosity towards the staff as his staff remained loyal to the restaurant even during the pandemic. The restaurant also had to temporarily close anyway. They were able to reopen in May, in the meantime they were trying to make a living from food delivery, and the Alachua Provincial Chamber of Commerce provided them with support so that workers could be paid.
