British Army medical officer Harpreet Chandy set a record: she covered 1,130 kilometers on Antarctic ice in 31 days, 13 hours and 19 minutes, making her the fastest woman to ski solo across Antarctica, she wrote. Watchman.
The soldier had previously broken two other Guinness World Records in Antarctica, and with his current third world record, he beat the previous record holder, Canadian Caroline Cote, by a difference of one day, 14 hours and 34 minutes. Guinness World Records must verify this claim, which could take several months.
I'm tired, but I'm so glad I did it. Antarctica is an amazing place and it is an absolute privilege to be here
The world record holder told a news agency.

Harpreet Chandy left Hercules Bay on the Rhone Ice Sheet on November 26 and arrived at the South Pole at 2.24am UK time on Thursday.
She first made history when she became the first woman of color to complete the 700-mile Antarctic expedition to the South Pole solo and unsupported in 2021. The following year, she broke two world records, including the longest one-way solo, unsupported Polar ski expedition.
Harpreet Chandy says her previous trip was “the hardest thing she has ever done” and she initially didn't think she would return to Antarctica this year. At that time, he lost approximately 20 kilograms, suffered injuries, and underwent surgery last February.
The military officer also spoke about the fact that he had only skied down the slopes once before and that it was a “horrible experience” for him, which is why he spent a week training with a Norwegian explorer before the challenge. He skied an average of 12 to 13 hours a day, pulling a 75-kilogram sled loaded with survival gear.
I couldn't control the conditions – the hot sun, the whiteout, the 30-degree temperature below zero – but I could control how I dealt with them. I just went step by step
Chandi said.
