The shooting was reported at 3:45 p.m. local time in West Hills, a town in the San Fernando Valley, J.J. Chavez, a member of the Los Angeles Police Department.
A 45-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at the scene
Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
Officials said a 35-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition, and another 35-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were taken to a medical facility with serious injuries.
Police said an altercation led to the shooting. So far, authorities have obtained two firearms that could be linked to the case.
Investigators have detained several suspects and interviewed some people in the hospital to determine if they could also be suspects, according to reports. NBC News.

Police said one of the people arrested was a man who fled in a car with windows shot out. After a frustrated chase, the suspect moved to another vehicle driven by a woman in front of him, but eventually surrendered to the pursuing police.
The police press department stated that the person who ran over him did not suffer serious injuries.
