Earlier, we also wrote several times about the fact that Hamas also has hostages with Hungarian citizenship. Among them were two Hungarian girls, whose mother, Magan Zen, had previously spoken to the press.
Israel and Hamas recently agreed to an exchange of prisoners. But we recently wrote that the two girls were not included in the list of the first hostages to be released (prisoners are released in several rounds, divided by day). Since then, another Hungarian hostage was released the next day.
On Sunday, the third group of hostages was released. Initially, the specific list was not announced, but now Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto has announced:
Among the released hostages were the two Israeli-Hungarian girls, Daphna and Ella.
“I can share with those concerned about the Hungarian hostages: thanks to the mediation of the Qatari government, today more hostages were released from Hamas captivity, including two children who hold Hungarian citizenship,” the Foreign Minister wrote.
As a result, the three Hungarian hostages who belong to the group scheduled to be released based on the Israeli-Hamas agreement (women and children) regained their freedom.
“I expressed my gratitude to the Qatari Minister of State for his assistance in releasing the Hungarian hostages as he promised,” Peter Szijjártó said.
Below is a list of those released
Although the Foreign Minister did not mention the names of the two Hungarian girls, in the meantime Jerusalem Post A list of those released was published (although only those with Israeli citizenship). Accordingly, it can be confirmed that Daphna and Ella have indeed been released.
The newspaper wrote that 17 hostages were freed, as previously mentioned, including three foreign citizens. The full list looks like this (broken down by family):
