As we wrote earlier, Erzsi Máthé passed away at the age of ninety-five, representative of the nation, laureate of the Kossuth Prize and two-time winner of the Jászai Mari Prize, worthy and outstanding artist, lifelong member of the Society of the Immortals, and one of the most distinguished Hungarian actresses – the family learned from Index from one of his friends. Actor Peter Balazs told Pointer: He met Erzi Mateh in acting college. He was in his third year when they first played together in the tragedy of man at the then National Theatre.

Peter Balazs also said: He loved working with Erzsi Máthé, because he was not only talented, but also down-to-earth. In his own words, he has always admired his great work ethic. He added that he was also distinguished by the harsh handling of life.
His style is special. He was likable and determined. I think of him with the highest esteem and love. May God have mercy on her. I hope he rests in peace now
