Index – Culture – Prima Primissima Awards presented

The Prima Primissima Awards in ten categories were announced and the Audience Award was presented to outstanding representatives of Hungarian intellectual life, arts, science and sport at the Friday evening held in Müpa.

This year, nominees for Prima Primissima can come from a wider range than before, as many of the recognition categories have been expanded.

The theater and cinematography category was supplemented with dance, the visual arts category with applied arts, and the journalism category with knowledge dissemination.

The Foundation’s Board of Trustees selected Primissimas members from a total of 30 nominees – 3 for each category – who will receive an estimate of HUF 15 million. The Foundation supports the activities of these candidates who cannot be Primisimas – but who are also Primas themselves – with an amount of 5 million HUF.

  • In the Hungarian Architecture category: Peter Sugararchitect, university professor
  • In the Hungarian Fine and Applied Arts category: Rita HagerTextile artist
  • In the Hungarian Education and General Education category: Caroline HartlinMaster, teacher
  • In the Hungarian Science category: Laszlo Lovachemy mathematician
  • In the Hungarian publishing and media category: Bartok RadioClassical Music Radio
  • In the Hungarian Sports category: Csaba HegedusOlympic champion wrestler, head coach
  • In the category of Hungarian Folklore and General Culture: Jula KovacsForester, keeper of ancient Hungarian fruit varieties
  • In the category of Hungarian literature: Peter DobayPoet, writer, playwright
  • Hungarian music class: Andras KeelerViolinist conductor
  • In the Hungarian Theatre, Film and Dance category: Laszlo Galvian actor, received a prize of 15 million HUF each.
  • Audience Prize, in the amount of 15 million HUF Christina HadesTV journalist, editor, reporter.
