The Lord of the Rings song was voted the UK’s favorite soundtrack by UK Classic FM listeners, ahead of classics such as Schindler’s List and Star Wars.
British Classic FM conducted a poll among its listeners. More than ten thousand people voted, and according to the results, the Lord of the Rings soundtrack was the best ever. Reports stated that composer Howard Shore’s music beat out Schindler’s List, which came in second place, and Star Wars, which came in third place. daily Mail.
Radio host Jonathan Ross said he was thrilled that Howard Shore’s music was getting so much love and that it was named to the FM Classic Film Music Hall of Fame, a stunning celebration of the greatest soundtracks in history. Commenting on the news, Shor said:

The first part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy premiered in 2001 and won Academy Awards for visual effects, makeup, cinematography, and music for its original score.
On the list, John Williams proved to be the country’s favorite composer, with five of his scores – Schindler’s List, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – making the top 20. The list also includes soundtracks for Gladiator, Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars films.
