Marton Nagy stressed at the meeting that Montenegro is an important partner for Hungary, and that our country is committed to supporting Montenegro’s progress in integration with the European Union.
The value of sales of foreign trade products between the two countries approached 100 million euros in 2023, which represents a significant improvement compared to previous years.
Montenegro is also a priority partner country for Hungarian investments, in 2022 it was the 21st destination country for Hungarian capital, and the value of domestic capital inflow there amounted to EUR 314 million. In 2023, the number of tourists from Montenegro exceeded 6,000, and the number of nights spent by guests reached 17,000, all representing an increase of 28 and 23 percent compared to the previous year, respectively.
Marton Nagy added that the Hungarian government is striving to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, and therefore negotiations between the two parties will continue in the future, MTI reported.
