The search for the host of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, whose identity remains in doubt less than a month before the event, continues Monday morning. The organizers have approached several prominent comedians, but none have yet accepted the role of host, the newspaper wrote. CNN.
Two-time Oscar-winning actor Chris Rock was the first to be offered the role, but he declined the offer without any explanation.
Rock last took a similar stance in 2022 at the then-Oscars, when the ill-fated slap with Will Smith also occurred. The physical altercation occurred after Rock made an offensive joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Often times, female comedians are asked to be hosts or presenters at various award ceremonies, and the organizers have tried to do so in this case as well.
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have already hosted the Golden Globe Awards four times, but they previously vowed to never take on the role of host again, and it looks like they really meant it. The actresses said they were tired of the task and described it as thankless work.

The show actually performed poorly last year, with just 6.3 million viewers, a 26 percent drop from the previous Golden Globes. According to the organizers, a well-known and popular presenter will definitely be needed to “save” the event.
