“Only pigs sit in the cinema” – that's why Polish President Andrzej Duda should be put on trial for sentencing.

He wrote: Polish President Andrzej Duda should stand trial, because he has been prosecuted for insulting the citizens of his country. Notes from Poland News portal.

The incident occurred last year, when Duda criticized Green Border, a controversial film by director Agnieszka Holland about the migration crisis on the border between Poland and Belarus.

Polish border guards were also criticized in the film. Duda hinted in his statement that those who went to the cinema to watch the film could be “pigs” – at least citing what Polish border guards told him in this regard.

I am not surprised that the border guards who watched this film used the slogan we know from the days of the Nazi occupation when Nazi propaganda films were shown in cinemas: “Only pigs sit in the cinema.”

– said the Polish President.

The NGO that initiated proceedings against the president, the Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior (OMZRiK), recently announced that

The court session was scheduled for October 24, 2025 (Andrzej Duda's presidential term will end by then).

They also noted that the trial will be held online and anyone can watch the broadcast. According to the reaction of the Presidential Office, the Polish President will be represented in the proceedings only by his lawyer.
