This year, the already traditional Garden Railway Meeting in the Railway History Park cannot be missed, which will now be held with an expanded program and content. This year’s 17-year program series can be visited from September 23 to 24, and this time the organizers are preparing a more diverse program offer.
The LokoPiknik and Garden Railways meeting is a renewed version of the previous European Garden Railways event, which awaits its visitors from September 23 to 24 this year. This time, the focus of the event is again on the park’s miniature railway and model railways, but now the organizers are preparing more interactive and entertaining programmes. It is no coincidence that it is considered one of the most popular events among family programs, as for two days between 10 am and 6 pm, all-day entertainment is guaranteed for young and old.
At this year’s international competition we can also see the Hungarian, Croatian, German and Slovenian railways, an exhibition of railway models in the East Hall, and detailed field tables up to 70 meters long, with German, Austrian and Swiss models on them. American rail vehicles will also be operated. Furthermore, visitors can see a small train simulator, but they can also see a CANDO exhibition led by a railway museum scientist.
And on Saturday, courtesy of the Museum of Transportation, “Throw Your Bike Up!” Under the programme, families can make unique vision stickers and bicycle decorations, and can also receive useful information about bicycle assembly.
If kids want more exciting experiences, they should visit the ninja track, the giant pirate ship, or even one of the crafts, face painting, or glitter tattoo programs. There will be no shortage of concerts either: performances by the Goose Band and the Ákom-Bákom Puppet Group will entertain visitors on both days.
We are confident that the renewed format and content of the event will be even more attractive to our visitors than before, and that the Railway History Park this weekend in September will be able to host not only the 17th Railway Event in the Park, but also a new one. Family experiences.!
– said Norbert Schwedd, head of the Railway History Park.
General Annual Pass prices apply to the event.
The organizers reserve the right to change the program!
