the police website It is reported that according to the announcement of the National Police Reserve Bureau of Investigation (KR NNI), the staff of the Criminal Technical Department and the staff of the ELKH Energy Science Center presented the new locating procedure to experts from 162 countries.
As they wrote, the presentation at the International Conference of the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna was so successful that
Hungarian innovation will be the basis of a single international protocol in the future.
The team was asked to explain the process they developed for the radioactive material, which is a completely new method compared to previous practices.
The point is that hazardous materials are not tested after transportation, but on the spot, and most of the information is extracted from them. Thus, signs of crime are also tracked and recorded.
This is important because, according to the previous protocol, these materials usually undergo decontamination, that is, decontamination, prior to transportation. After that, it was no longer possible to collect more evidence. Antiseptics also destroy the genetic material and traces of the finger speculum. In the case of the phone, it may be the entire device as well.
The new protocol was developed over three years by radiologists at the National Bureau of Investigation. The show was based on a mock crime in which the perpetrator takes a radioactive substance to the basement of his apartment and then leaves behind a backpack contaminated with radioactive material while escaping from a subway station.
The Hungarian team present was immediately forced to search the apartment and suitcase, while experts from 162 countries watched their movements live and online. Technicians used special devices to measure radiation with personal protective equipment and performed the task assigned to them in a radiocommunication gas mask.
Thanks to the new method, the implementation of the complex task was so successful that the experts of INTERPOL and the FBI highlighted the performance of the Hungarian team and praised the new protocol, which was a real achievement compared to the line of international experts.
It was mentioned in the police report.
Thanks to its success, this process will form the basis for a single IAEA international protocol in the future, and the New York hosts can be part of an international nuclear conference at which guidelines for new nuclear laws are laid.
