Chinese state television reported on the country's joint military exercises with Cambodia, which have been taking place since May 16 in the Southeast Asian country. One of these robotic dogs weighed more than 50 kilograms, carried an assault rifle on its back, and participated in an attack on a building where several pseudo-terrorists were hiding. Another robotic dog is equipped with a wide-angle sensor system. This model can also independently create movement trajectories to avoid obstacles and quickly approach the target.
Analysts told Chinese media that the robotic dogs could “significantly increase combat effectiveness and reduce human casualties.”
Several other new types of equipment, including drones designed for armed reconnaissance and delivery missions, were also deployed in key phases of the exercise, the report said.
