By the end of 2024, the clinic will provide additional capacity for more than two thousand people to patients in eleven regions of the capital in three locations equipped with three modern CT scanners. As part of the cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality, the Budapest Onco project welcomes residents of eleven central, eastern and southern districts.
As of December 31, a total of 2,088 patients suspected of having cancer or already diagnosed with cancer could be examined with out-of-sequence CT scans.
Diagnosis is very rapid, and tests are available within seven days, but in many cases they can even give patients an appointment on the same day, with results ready within three days. CT scans can be obtained with a referral from a specialist at the Orvosi Képalkotó Klinika Korányi Sándor utca 2, the Clinic's Department of Surgery and Implant Radiology (Baross utca 23) and the Szent Rókus Clinic Block (Gyulai Pál utca 2).
Clinic Director Dr. Pal Morovic Horvat confirmed this
They do not examine healthy people, but those who already have a suspicion of a tumor, or a known tumor activity, should be monitored using CT.
This is why you need a specialist referral. They work with the latest high-resolution CT equipment, such as an advanced CT scanner with a photon counting detector.
If cancer is confirmed, the university also helps with recovery, as all oncology treatment options are available as well as consultations with surgeons and oncologists. More information is available on the website of the Orvosi Képalkotó Klinika in the Budapest Onco project menu item. Examinations can be scheduled Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm, and on Saturdays between 8am and 12pm by calling 06 20 825 8827 or by email at [email protected].
