The deal to sell Chelsea FC is expected to close on Monday, after a final agreement was reached with a consortium led by American businessman Todd Boehle, according to the BBC.
Chelsea were auctioned in March after owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned for his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who ordered the invasion of Ukraine.
The Premier League and the UK government have agreed to acquire £4.25 billion.
So far, the club operates under a special government license that expires on May 31. Abramovich, who bought Chelsea FC back in 2003, was glad that the search for an owner had now ended successfully. The Wall Street Journal wrote in April that this may be the biggest deal in sports history.
