Index – Tech-Science – Apple will make a big announcement this month

As Index previously reported, Apple is having a particularly busy few weeks. At the beginning of September, the latest iPhones, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, played the lead role, which we tested for ourselves. Although it had a rocky start — many Pro models suffered from unrealistic heating — Apple was finally able to fix the bugs with a software update.

In addition to phones, the Apple Watch range was also updated: Series 9 and Ultra 2 were introduced, the biggest novelty of which was the S9 chip, which significantly increased the performance of watches. In addition, double-tap gesture control has been implemented in the watches, but the situation is that all Apple Watches from Series 6 and above should be able to do this – but Apple is supposed to restrict it through software.

If that wasn’t enough, a few days ago a brand new Apple Pencil appeared on the company’s website literally out of nowhere – you can read more about it by clicking here. Since Apple only announced the Pencil at the time, it’s almost certain that the company isn’t planning another presentation this year (because if it had, the new device would have gotten airtime there). However, Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist and one of the most reliable leakers of Apple news, thinks so

The company could hold a presentation later in the month, on October 30 or 31.

As it turned out early Tuesday evening, Gorman was right, because Apple sent out the invitations — Scary fast Their event will start at 1 a.m. Hungarian time on October 31, an unusual time for the company. The offer is not expected to reach September level – also due to the fact that official invitations were sent out less than a week before the show – but regardless, the company seems to be preparing some particularly exciting devices. We show you what to expect.

The new iMac has arrived

Apple last updated iMacs in the spring of 2021, but it hasn’t cut it any slack. The family of devices received an all-new, thinner (and more colorful) design than ever before, with Apple’s own M1 chip at its center. The new 24-inch iMac has been a huge success, but compared to other Apple products, the company seems to have neglected it a bit — it’s been more than two years since the device family has received any updates.

Obviously this will change next October, but it is not yet clear what the company will create. What is almost certain is that the design will remain unchanged, but on deck Apple will be experimenting with new colors.

Regardless, of course, the key point will be which chip will be installed in the iMac.

Apple has two options: Either it will put the M2 chip it introduced nearly a year and a half ago into the computer, thus creating one of Apple’s “oldest” but still newest products, or it will unveil the M3 chip at the conference. The presentation is at the end of October, which the iMac will be the first to receive. It goes without saying that the last position will be the best position – and the Scary Fast indicator can easily point to the new chip.

There was also news about a 32-inch iMac Pro with more serious specifications, but Gorman believes that its arrival is still a long way off.

Macs can also be updated

According to the informant, the MacBook Pro models may also be updated at the October event – however, it will be necessary for Apple to introduce the M3 chip in advance, as all MacBook Pros currently available in the Apple range are equipped with the most modern chip.

If the company comes with the new chip, we believe that the 24-inch iMac and 13-inch MacBook Pro will be the first to receive it. The MacBook Air isn’t, because the 15-inch model is only a few months old, and the Mac mini because the latest generation of it was already available with the M2 Pro chip — so we can’t see a new model unless we already have the third-generation Pro and Max chips. The company also pulled the lid on it.
